My Story

Hi, I'm Rachel Hart VanDorsselaer, owner and operator of Therapy With Hart. I offer virtual therapy for adults (age 16 and up) who are based in Ontario, as well as in person sessions in Wallaceburg, Ontario. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and I hold an Honours BA in Psychology as well as a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University.

I am a widow, childfree after infertility, and a former foster parent, so am well acquainted with grief and loss both personally and professionally. My husband passed away unexpectedly in 2021, and my grief journey led me to go back to school at 40 years old to get my Masters and pursue a career as a therapist. This is something that had always been in the back of my mind, but the timing never seemed right. After I lost my husband, I wanted to help people and be of service the way he was when he was alive.

I am living proof that there is life after loss, and it's never too late to change your path in life.

I know that reaching out for support can feel scary, and it's incredibly brave. If you're curious about whether we might be a good fit, I invite you to book a free 15-minute consultation.
